My name is Boris Popov, I have been tattooing since 2016.

My style is dark graphics inspired by medieval themes and surrealism: magic, knights, organic shapes, scary tales and everything that conveys the atmosphere of ancient legends and mystical stories.

I live and work in Nizhny Novgorod, Russia.

How long have you been tattooing for? 

I've been tattooing for about 9 years.

What is your preferred tattoo style?

I prefer dark graphic tattoos with surreal themes.

What other art mediums do you practice?

I also draw designs for clothes.

What are your career highlights?

I have participated in several tattoo festivals, as well as collaborated with Bad Omens, Versatile and Stay Cold Apparel.

What do you love about RTLA?

I absolutely love the creative freedom at RTLA, the very high level of artists and the quality of the products.

What does ‘Defy the Ordinary’ mean to you?

'Defy the Ordinary' for me means having the courage to do what you love without trying to do what is expected of you.
